My only boy turned four this month. I cannot believe how big he’s grown in 12 short months. He’s ornery and full of energy. Here’s my open letter to my birthday boy at four years old
Dear Conrad,
I cannot believe how much you’ve grown this year! You are the sweetest little boy. Your dad and I are so proud of how sweet, smart and caring you’ve become. We’re so excited for what this next year has in store for you! We hope that Lorelei gives you a little dose of your own medicine (similar to what you did to your big sisters). It’s going to be a great year for you!
In late June of last year, you absolutely conquered your fear of getting splashed with water.
In July, you went to your first concert ever – Kidz Bop Live! You danced to your heart’s content.
In August, you got your first “real” backpack and started in the next level up at daycare.
In September, you absolutely LOVED our trip the the Kansas City Zoo with the family! You started this little hop/skip when you get super excited, and I think this is where it started.
In October, you decided to become Superman as part of the family super heroes costume strategy.
In November, we visited your baby cousin in Springfield and we stopped at Osceola Cheese and you absolutely loved it!
In December, we did a marathon day at IHop, Kaleidoscope, Sea Life, Crown Center, Union Station, and the Dinosaur Exhibit. It was SUCH a fun day and you had a blast! We also did Winterfest at Worlds of Fun, but only lasted an hour because of your sister!
In January, the entire family including you cheered on the Chiefs as we got WAYYY closer to making it to the Super Bowl.
In early February, you go to go on your first vacation ever and it was THE BEST. It was a Disney World AND Disney Cruise ship. You ABSOLUTELY had a blast! You LOVED the cruise ship!!!! You had a pirate makeover
In February, you got to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your friends at daycare with a Ninja Turtle Valentine’s Day box.
In March, we went to a monster truck show at Independence Event Center. You loved it – especially the car eating, fire breathing machine dragon.
In early April, you finally learned how to ride your camo car. It may have been that your feet finally touched! You and Lorelei are literally partners in crime in this vehicle when the weather started warming up!
In late April, we went to Wonderscope and you absolutely loved the racetracks they had in there!
In early May, we went to Great Wolf Lodge and you had a blast swimming in their indoor water park.
In late May, we did a Pinewood Derby and your dad made you an awesome green dump truck. You were adamant about green and white. And your truck beat your Grandpa’s car – which was a huge deal.
Right before your birthday, you learned how to “read” your first book. This is the BEST book ever!!
In June for your birthday day, you really wanted to go to Legoland – and we have no idea where this desire came from. So for your big day, we went to Legoland, Sea Life, Fritz’s, and ate at the Kona Shaved Ice truck! You had a blast!
For your birthday, you got Hot Wheels and a ton of Transformer stuff, which you are obsessed with. And we topped it off with a Hot Wheel’s cake.
Little man, you are amazing, sweet, kind and funny. You are a LOT a bit of ornery and we love every bit of that (most of the time).
We love you and so blessed that you’ve been part of our family!
